My Shopping Genie
My Shopping Genie is a comparison application that was launched into the market about 2 years ago, but has only recently resurfaced. Initially the tool was simply an eBay shopping companion with limited capabilities. Recently however it has resurfaced with a lot more functionality, which leads me to believe it could actually become a player in the comparison shopping game. There is also another interesting side to the tool which is the business which I will cover in depth as well.
The Shopping tool is unique in that its not a toolbar. It only “appears” when you are on a search engine results page, which is pretty cool. It then disappears when you leave the searching area.
What the tool does is scour the internet and aggregate all the best deals it can find from the top retailers, eBay and more. It even populates items from sources such as ClickBank and Amazon. It brings all these search results up into a lightbox of sorts which allows you to browse through all the results. I had my doubts, but the tool is actually really useful and helped me save about $30 on a new HD camera that I use for shooting video. So as far as the tool goes, it is much improved and I think its easier to use and definitely more convenient than any other shopping tool I have seen to date.
The business opportunity side of the My Shopping Genie tool has changed a great deal as well. Now that the company has become large enough, they have started profit sharing on the PPC revenue which is very cool considering you can give away the tool. So you can give the tool away and generate income when people shop, not only when they buy, but when they shop in general, that clicking creates revenue and you split the revenue with the company, 50/50. Pretty good deal in my book.
On the network marketing side of the business there is definitely money to be made if you want to work hard. It’s a binary compensation plan like a lot of the new MLM’s and it has all the bells and whistles including fast start bonuses and profit sharing pools.
The cost to entry is pretty low compared to other companies, its $199 to become a distributor and $29 a month after that so not bad when a lot of companies are asking for thousands upfront and a couple hundred monthly.
All in all, I was very impressed with My Shopping Genie and its second offering to the world, I think it has a lot of great functionality and a solid business model, considering Google made 23 billion last year doing basically the same thing.
As with any network marketing company if you do decide to join, make sure you do so with a leader who has a good track record of creating success and duplication, so do your research!
